Entry requirements

A visa is no longer required when entering Mozambique. Please note that the validity of your passport must be at least six months. No firearms are allowed. Travellers should obtain the latest information and details from the Embassy of Mozambique.

Automobile travel

Your driver’s licence as well as registration papers for your vehicle must be available for inspection at all times when driving in Mozambique. If the vehicle is not registered in your name, obtain a letter of authorization from the owner. Stick to the speed limit especially through villages as speed traps are set up regularly.

Currency information

The currency in Mozambique is Meticais. Dollars and Rands are widely accepted and can also be exchanged at local banks and most shops.  

Malaria

Speak to your doctor for advice on prophylactics. Insect repellent should be used.
